He did not seek reelection to the Governor's Office in 1950. He ran unsuccessfully for the nomination for US Congress in 1958. He was born in Whitehall, Washington County, N.Y. , February 9, 1904. He took up residence in Burlington, Vermont. He was an attorney. He was a major in the U.S. Army during World War II.
