Hanan Qassab Hassan (b. Damascus, January 1, 1952) is a prominent Syrian writer and academic. Her father was the prominent lawyer and writer Najat Qassab Hassan. Qassab-Hassan holds a PhD in French literature from the University of Paris III. She is currently the dean of the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in Damascus and a professor of Art history at the University of Damascus. She also served as the general secretary of the 2008 Arab Capital of Culture festivity.
