H. H Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani (born 1959) is a member of the royal family of Qatar and currently the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister. He has been the Minister of Foreign Affairs since 1992. He is a cousin of the current emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and his father and predecessor, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, who appointed him; he was retained in his post when the current emir came to power in a coup in 1995.
