Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia is the former Royal Yacht of the British royal family, the 83rd such vessel since the restoration of King Charles II in 1660. She is the second Royal yacht to bear the name, the first being the famous racing cutter built for The Prince of Wales in 1893. She is now permanently moored as an exhibition ship at Ocean Terminal, Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Le gouvernement britannique a décidé en 1994 de le désarmer pour raisons budgétaires. Cela fut fait en décembre 1997 dans le port militaire de Portsmouth. Il est depuis transformé en musée dans le port de Leith à Édimbourg et un des lieux les plus visités de Grande-Bretagne. Het schip werd op 11 december 1997 uit de vaart genomen. Momenteel ligt het in Leith, de haven van de Schotse hoofdstad Edinburgh, waar het dienstdoet als drukbezochte toeristische attractie. Het is te bereiken via het informatiecentrum en aangrenzende giftshop in het winkelcentrum Ocean Terminal. Het schip heeft drie masten, waarvan de hoogste 42 meter lang is. Het kon een snelheid bereiken van 21,5 knopen. Sinds de ingebruikname in 1954 heeft het jacht, met aan boord de koningin en de prins en/of andere leden van het koninklijk huis, 1.087.623 zeemijlen (2.014.278 km) afgelegd en daarbij 696 bezoeken gebracht aan buitenlandse bestemmingen. De bemanning telde 217 koppen en 19 officieren. Vele hoogwaardigheidsbekleders zijn op het schip te gast geweest. Prins Charles en prinses Diana maakten met de Britannia in 1981 hun huwelijksreis. In 1986 werden meer dan 1000 vluchtelingen voor de burgeroorlog in Aden met het schip geëvacueerd. Het was zodanig ingericht dat het eventueel ook als hospitaalschip kon dienen, maar voor de functie is het nooit gebruikt.
