H.R. ("Human Rights") is the stage name of Paul D. Hudson, the lead singer of the influential hardcore punk band Bad Brains. He has also left the band periodically to record solo albums that are more mellow reggae than Bad Brains' usual offerings. He is the older brother of Earl Hudson, Bad Brains' drummer.

- Paul Hudson alias H.R. pour Human Rights ou encore Ras Hailu Gabriel Joseph I (né le 11 février 1956 à Londres) est un chanteur Afro-Américain rastafarien qui fusionnera parallèlement à sa carrière au sein du groupe Bad Brains différents styles de musiques noires dans une approche qui s'avèrera singulière, éclectique et artisanale. Ses compositions en solo mettrons globalement moins en valeur l'extraordinaire éventail de ces possibilités vocales que les chansons de Bad Brains. Sa discographie au moins aussi importante que celle de son groupe d'origine sera le moyen de l'expression d'une foi mystique. Son frère Earl, également batteur de Bad Brains sera présent sur tous ses enregistrements. H.R. s'associera par trois fois à Ras Michael, le leader des Sons of Negus un musicien de grand prestige en Jamaïque. En produisant d'une part, un album intitulé Zion Train et d'autre part, en le recrutant comme percussionniste pour l'enregistrement de deux de ses propres albums: Singin' In Your Heart et Our Faith. La carrière solo de H.R. marquera un coup d'arrêt au milieu des années 90. En 2005 H.R. se produira en compagnie d'un groupe d'accompagnement dénommé Dubb Agents, cette fois sans son frère, en vieillissant, son aspect physique et son comportement imprévisible (il jouera avec un casque de motocycliste sur la tête lors du premier des trois concerts de Bad Brains en 2006 au CBGB's) le feront de plus en plus ressembler à un Lee Scratch Perry. En 2007, H.R. a annoncé la sortie d'un nouvel album intitulé Hey Wella (DCHC Records) sur son site myspace, un disque finalement disponible en téléchargement payant depuis 2008. Rétrospectivement l'album It's About Luv apparaît comme un complément parfait aux Roir Sessions de Bad Brains.
