  • GroupMe! is a social bookmarking and folksonomy system enabling users to organize their bookmarks in groups. Those groups can be created via drag-and-drop operations and the bookmarks within a group are visualized according to the media type of the bookmarked resource, e.g. pictures are directly displayed, videos can be watched within the group. GroupMe! joins typical Web 2.0 design patterns with Semantic Web technologies and all data produced in the system is made available as RDF according to the principles of Linked Data. The approach of grouping resources, as e.g. also done in Flickr, can moreover be used to improve search (especially for untagged resources). GroupMe! was developed by the Semantic Web group at University of Hanover and first introduced at the Semantic Web challenge 2007.
