Joseph Saddler better known as Grandmaster Flash, is an American hip hop musician and DJ; one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting, and mixing. He is also a nephew to the great Former Feather Weight Champion of the World, the late Sandy Saddler. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming the first hip hop/rap artists to be so honored.

Lavorando con Mr. Broadway, Lavon, Shame e Larry Love nel 1985 produce Larry's Dance Theme. Nel 1988 ritorna al gruppo precedente ma solo per pubblicare l'album On Tha Strenght. Condurrà poi uno show su Sirius Satellite Radio chiamato The Flash Mash Show e creerà una sua linea di abbigliamento la G. Phyre. Nel 2007 è stato inserito nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, diventando il primo artista hip hop a guadagnare questa onorificenza.
