The band was formed in 2007 after the break-up of Whiskey Richard, a rock/alternative country act from Nashville, Tennessee by way of the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, which all of its members attended. Whiskey Richard recorded the 2005 album, The Untimely Demise of a Lovestruck Confessor. The principal members of Goodbye Picasso are Chris Dreyer and Scott Taylor.
