Godflesh were an English industrial metal band from Birmingham, England. They formed in 1988 by Justin K. Broadrick and G. C. Green and disbanded in 2002. The band is regarded as one of the pioneers of industrial metal and post-metal.

Die Band beeinflusste mit ihrem Schaffen auch andere Industrial-Bands wie Ministry (spätere Werke) oder Metal-/Crossover-Bands wie Fear Factory. Jedes ihrer Alben ist sehr verschieden gegenüber den übrigen Veröffentlichungen. Während man in älteren Alben auch Death-Metal- oder Grindcore-Einflüsse hören kann, sind die späteren Werke permanenten Veränderungen unterworfen. Mal ist ein Album elektronischer, wie Slavestate, mal etwas schneller, wie Selfless. Justin K. Broadrick unterhielt auch während seiner Arbeiten mit Godflesh viele Nebenprojekte wie z. Bsp. Final, God, Ice, Techno Animal u. a. Nach dem letzten Album und einem Wechsel zu einer neuen Plattenfirma verließ Ben Green die Band, und Justin K. Broadrick verkündete 2002 das Ende von Godflesh. Justin K. Broadrick spielt nun bei Jesu.
