Gilbert Francis Lani Damian Kauhi also known as Zulu and Zoulou, was an American actor, musician and stand-up comedian most known for his burly character "Kono Kalakaua" on the CBS television network series Hawaii Five-O for the first four years of the series. A native Hawaiian, Kauhi was an accomplished surfer and was known in Hawaii by the honorific of a Waikiki Beach Boy. Kauhi was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and died in Hilo, Hawaii at 66 years old of complications from diabetes.
