- The Gibson Amphitheatre is a theatre located in Universal City, California, USA. It was originally built in 1972 as an outdoor venue, but to the chagrin of many, was remodeled and converted into an indoor theatre in 1982. It seats up to 6,189 for concerts, including 6,089 chairback seats (3,900 in the main level and 2,189 in the mezzanine). It is the third-largest theatre in California, behind the Shrine Auditorium and Nokia Theatre - two other Los Angeles venues. The theatre is best known for its acoustics and its sightlines, considered the best of any theatre in North America. The theatre was known as the Universal Amphitheatre from its inception until early 2005, when naming rights were acquired by the Gibson Guitar Corporation The venue regularly hosts concerts by high profile touring artists and major recurrent events at the Gibson Amphitheatre include the MTV Movie Awards and the annual Teen Choice Awards.

Ele foi construido em 1972 como um teatro descoberto, mas foi remodelado em um teatro indoor(fechado) em 1982. O Anfiteatro Gibson tem capacidade para 6,189 pagantes, incluindo 6,089 cadeiras (3,900 no nivel principal e 2,189 no andar superior). É o terceiro maior anfiteatro da California, somente atrás do Shrine Auditorium e do Nokia Theatre, havendo outros dois teatros sem teto em Los Angeles com capacidade superior. O teatro é conhecido por sua excelente acústica e iluminação, sendo considerado um dos melhores anfiteatros dos EUA. O teatro foi conhecido como Universal Amphitheatre até ser modernizado em 2005 e seus direitos comprados pela Gibson Guitar Corporation.
