Also in 2004, the band managed to creep into the video game market where several of their actual gig posters can be seen in the award-winning ' PC game. Though Ghoultown was moving forward, by the end of 2004 the band's fate was doubtful... By the time 2005 came around, Ghoultown was thought to be "buried," for the time being. The band had played their "final" show at the end of 2004 at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas. Many fans thought it might be the last time they would see Ghoultown live. Ghoultown played several special songs and even had Lewis Lazario return on to the stage with them to do some vocals. Count Lyle made statements alluding to the fact that the band wasn't dead, but they were, "keeping an axe with them in the coffin, just in case. " Shortly after around the beginning of 2005, the announcement was made that a new band, named Maltoro would be coming out. It featured all the members of Ghoultown except for Lizard Lazario and instead featured electric guitarist, Twoie Myers in the line up. The sound was similar to Ghoultown with a little more rock influence. Studio tracks were recorded in anticipation for a Maltoro studio album (this later became the Bury Them Deep album). Despite the popularity of Maltoro, many had ask if Ghoultown would make a return (Count Lyle was careful to always state that Maltoro was a completely different band to Ghoultown). Some wondered if the hiatus of Lizard Lazario was the reason Ghoultown was not playing anymore and rumors circulated that they might try to bring Lewis Lazario in his place. This fact that was denied by both sides. Soon, Count Lyle stated that, indeed, Ghoultown would be returning and there would be some lineup changes, but none that anyone actually expected. October 2006 saw the release of the full-length Ghoultown album, Bury Them Deep, with a cover painted by illustrator Dan Brereton, creator of Nocturnals. When Ghoultown returned to the stage, there was a noted change in the lineup. Despite the rumors, Lizard Lazario did indeed return, but drummer X-Ray Charles had been replaced by Dalton Black and Randy Grimm had taken up the long absent trumpet player's role formerly played by J. Luis. By this time, Ghoultown had decided to leave their own label, Angry Planet Records for distribution and signed on with Zoviet Records. Ghoultown continued to tour and begin work on their next studio album which was the first true studio album featuring all the members of Ghoultown since Give 'Em More Rope.
