The GLJ also provides coverage of German and European Legal Culture, including announcements of conferences and other events of interest, book reviews, and coverage of appointments to the judiciary. The GLJ's frequent publication schedule permits the most contemporary coverage at http://germanlawjournal. com. The German Law Journal was founded in 2000 by Russell A. Miller, Professor of Law at the University of Idaho, and Peer Zumbansen, Associate Dean at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario. On the occasion of its 10th anniversity, the journal was honoured by the German Minister of Justice, Brigitte Zypries, for being an "ambassador of German law". Law students at Washington and Lee and Osgoode Hall share monthly editorial responsibilities. Student editors at Washington and Lee are chosen based upon grades, the results of a writing competition, and their dedication to international jurisprudence. Members of the editorial staff also have the opportunity to develop a topic for original legal research and to pursue publication in the German Law Journal.

Es erscheint monatlich und ist kostenlos. Das German Law Journal wurde im Jahr 2000 von den heutigen Juraprofessoren und Chefredakteuren Russell A. Miller und Peer C. Zumbansen gegründet, die sich als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter am Bundesverfassungsgericht kennen gelernt hatten. Ursprünglich war es als Newsletter mit englischen Anmerkungen zu deutschen Urteilen im zweimonatigen Rhythmus konzipiert. Das German Law Journal wird von der Robert Bosch Stiftung gefördert. Wie bei amerikanischen Law Reviews üblich, arbeiten insbesondere Jurastudenten daran mit. Die Beiträge werden in einem Peer-Review-Verfahren ausgewählt.
