George Yong-Boon Yeo is a politician from Singapore. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is currently the country's Minister for Foreign Affairs. Ethnically Chinese, Yeo belongs to the Teochew dialect group. He had his early education at Saint Patrick's School and Saint Joseph's Institution. He was a Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Merit Scholar and a President's Scholar, and completed a degree in engineering at Cambridge University in 1976.

He also did an MBA at the Harvard Business School in 1983. Yeo served in the Republic of Singapore Air Force, rising to the rank of Brigadier General prior to starting his career in politics. He is married to Jennifer Leong, and the couple have one daughter and three sons. Prior to taking up his present role as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yeo previously served as Minister for Information and the Arts, Minister for Health, and Minister for Trade and Industry. Yeo has been a Member of Parliament representing the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency since 1988. In the 2006 General Elections, Yeo's team won the constituency with 56.1% of the votes to the Workers' Party's 43.9%. This was the narrowest victory in any Group Representation Constitiuency at that election, and came in the wake of the controversy surrounding one of the Worker's Party's candidates, James Gomez. The main issues in the elections included employment; cost of living; government policies; the need for an effective opposition voice in parliament; and the quality of the candidates. Yeo was the first Singaporean Minister to start blogging. He has been blogging since August 2006. Yeo is married to lawyer Jennifer Yeo Lai Peng and he is also the uncle of Chinese American actress Gwendoline Yeo. Yeo has taken an important role in restarting the ancient Buddhist university, Nalanda University, in Bihar, India.
