George Park Fisher was an American theologian and historian who was noted as a teacher and a prolific writer. He was born in Wrentham, Massachusetts, graduated from Brown University in 1847, studied theology at Yale Divinity School and in Germany, and graduated from the Andover Theological Seminary in 1851. From 1854 to 1861, he was professor of divinity at Yale, and he later became a professor of ecclesiastical history and an emeritus professor in 1901.
