- Genette Tate (born 1965) became a cause celebre when she went missing aged 13 whilst delivering newspapers in Aylesbeare, Devon, England, on 19 August 1978. Her bicycle and scattered newspapers were found lying in the middle of a quiet country lane only minutes after she had been speaking to two friends. Thirty years on, her disappearance remains unexplained. Police have investigated the possibility that she was murdered at the hands of serial child killer Robert Black, who was found guilty of murdering three children in 1994, but in August 2008, they announced that there was not enough evidence to charge him with the crime.
