Garda is a commune on the shore of Lake Garda, in the province of Verona, region of Veneto, Northeastern Italy. It is one of the more characteristic towns on the east Coast of the homonymous biggest lake in Italy: the Lake of Garda. Garda is only 32 km from the city of Verona, and is one of the smallest towns in the whole province.

  • Garda (deutsch veraltet Garten) ist ein Ort am Ostufer des Gardasees mit 3835 Einwohnern (Stand vom 31. Juli 2006). Im und um den Ort gibt es eine üppige, schon fast mediterrane Vegetation. Daher ist er ein beliebtes Touristenziel am See. Garda wird geprägt von der Seepromenade und dem kleinen Hafen mit dem „Palazzo dei Capitani“ aus venezianischer Zeit. In der Nähe von Garda ragt die Landzunge Punta San Vigilio in den See. Für den Philosophen Agostino di Brenzone war es der „schönste Ort der Welt“. Heute ist dieser Ort in Privatbesitz, die Benutzung des Strandes „Baia delle Sirene“ ist kostenpflichtig.
