By July 2007 it had reached 3000 topic pages and 380 editors from six countries:- United Kingdom Australia New Zealand Canada Ireland United States Only registered medical practitioners or persons working under their direction, and a small number of invited non-medical specialists, may edit ganfyd articles, and its license specifically prohibits editing by people who are not registered medical practitioners. The intention is to maintain the qualification of the material, which is appropriate for a professional medical resource. The effect is that articles are reliable and an audit trail exists for them. Registration is by a variety of mechanisms, including a GMC Certificate or equivalent.
