Fred Herbert Brown was an American lawyer and Democratic politician from Somersworth, New Hampshire. He served as mayor of Somersworth and as United States Attorney for New Hampshire before his term as Governor of New Hampshire from 1923 to 1925, and later served in the United States Senate. Brown was elected to the Senate in the Roosevelt landslide of 1932, but lost his bid for re-election in 1938. He served as Comptroller General of the United States from 1939 - 1940.
