Ferdinando Salvatore Cimato (a.k.a. Fred), is an American musician, best-known for playing bass guitar for pop-punk band Cute Is What We Aim For. Cimato is a self-taught musician who has demonstrated very basic proficiency playing rhythm guitar and drums. He is also the drummer for another Buffalo, NY band, Ideaframe. His like for music was apparent at a young age, and he was able to perform basic harmonies on the guitar by the time he was 10 years old. Prior to joining Cute Is What We Aim For, Fred played bass for Buffalo-based band New Hope along with his cousin Tom Falcone. Fred and Tom performed their first gig together at the Higher Grounds Coffee House, with Fred acting as tour manager, merchandising manager and booking agent. Shortly after the release of Cute's debut album Same Old Blood Rush With a New Touch, Cimato left the band to pursue academic interests. In an October 2007 interview, Cimato was asked if he viewed his role in the band as permanent. He replied, "Definitely permanent. I had 7 months at home to finish up high school and after that I was like 'wow I miss playing music'. I was blessed enough to get that opportunity again. Upon completion of the album in March 2008, Cimato again parted ways with the band for undisclosed reasons. Cimato is currently residing in Buffalo, NY and is working with Beat City Recording Studio as a production manager for up-and-coming bands.
