Frank Michael Kratovil Jr. , (born May 29, 1968) is an American Democratic politician from the state of Maryland, and the Congressman for Maryland's 1st congressional district. Kratovil previously served six years as State's Attorney of Queen Anne's County on Maryland's Eastern Shore. At the age of 34, Kratovil assumed office on January 2003 as the youngest State's Attorney in Maryland, after defeating four term incumbent David Gregory in the Primary.

Kratovil previously served six years as State's Attorney of Queen Anne's County on Maryland's Eastern Shore. At the age of 34, Kratovil assumed office on January 2003 as the youngest State's Attorney in Maryland, after defeating four term incumbent David Gregory in the Primary. In 2005, Kratovil was elected to be President of the Maryland State's Attorneys' Association by his fellow State's Attorneys. He ran unopposed in his bid for re-election in 2006. On June 4, 2007 Kratovil annouced that he would run for Congress in the 1st District. Although some initially characterized Kratovil's chances of winning as a long shot, Kratovil narrowly defeated Republican Andy Harris in the November election.
