- Frank John Fenner on australialainen tiedemies, joka on tullut tunnetuksi varsinkin ansioistaan virologian alalla. Fenner syntyi Ballaratissa ja valmistui Adelaiden yliopistosta. Hän oli toisessa maailmansodassa lääkärinä Australiassa, Palestiinassa, Egyptissä, Uudessa-Guineassa sekä Borneossa, ja sai vuonna 1949 stipendin Rockefeller Universityyn New Yorkiin. Australiaan palattuaan Fenner pääsi mikrobiologian professoriksi Australian kansallisen yliopiston John Curtin School of Medical Researchiin Canberraan. Hänet on palkittu Japani-palkinnolla hänen työstään ennalta ehkäisevän lääketieteen alueella sekä Royal Societyn Copley-mitalilla vuonna 1995.
