  • Fort Necessity (Fuerte Necesidad en español) fue uno de los primeros fuertes que usaron los ingleses para defenderse de los franceses en la Guerra Franco-india. Fue creado por George Washington en 1754 tras la batalla de Jumonville Glen con la intención de frenar el avance francés en Ohio Country. Fue atacado a los pocos meses de ser construido, el 3 de julio de 1754, en lo que se conoció como la batalla de Great Meadows. Esta batalla supuso la única derrota de Washington en el campo de batalla y concluyó con la destrucción del fuerte.

Il fut construit par George Washington en 1754 après la bataille de Jumonville Glen avec l'intention de freiner l'avance française dans en Ohio Country. Le fort fut attaqué peu de mois après sa construction, le 3 juillet 1754. Cet affrontement est aujourd'hui connu sous le nom de Bataille de Fort Necessity. Cette dernière fut l'unique défaite de Georges Washington sur le champ de bataille et elle se termina par la destruction du fort.
