The Ford XA Falcon was introduced by Ford Australia in March 1972. It was a departure from previous Falcons, due to the fact that it was a full Australian design, although influenced in styling from the US market Mustang and Torino. XA body styles available at launch consisted of sedan and wagon variants, the pickup, panel van and hardtop coupe variants becoming available in late 1972.

  • The Ford XA Falcon was introduced by Ford Australia in March 1972. Both the sedan and coupe variants were available in a sporting model - Falcon GT - which were often seen on Australian race car tracks during the 1970s. While successful, the XA Falcon range proved to be short-lived, due to the Falcon gaining an update (XB series) in October 1973. For more information see Ford Falcon (Australia)#XA
