The administrative centre is the village of Florø, which was founded in 1860, has 8,296 inhabitants (2007). The Eikefjord area, which is the second largest place in Flora, has about 1000 inhabitants. The municipality stretches from inner fjords where the mountains ascend to the glacier Ålfotbreen, to the outermost coast.
