It was founded in 2005, with the merging of the various Finnish cultural centers around the world. Its headquarter is in Espoo. It is comprised of 17 institutes around the world: Athens, Brussel, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Damascus, New York, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Saint Peterburg, Stockholm, Tallinn and Tokyo.
