- Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces is the fourth studio album by South African post-grunge band Seether. The album was released in South Africa on October 19, 2007, and released worldwide on October 23, 2007. The cover artwork was designed by David Ho, the same artist who designed the Vicious Delicious cover for Infected Mushroom. The covers apparently display the same character: Candice the Ghost. In support of the album, the band has toured with Three Days Grace, Finger Eleven, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down, Skillet, Red, Papa Roach, Flyleaf, Econoline Crush, Nickelback, and Staind. Three singles, "Fake It", "Rise Above This", and "Breakdown" have been released from the album with all three being top 10 singles, the former two reaching the top position on several Billboard charts. As of June 11th, 2009 the album has sold 750,562 copies. The album was reissued in 2009, featuring a fourth single, the George Michael cover of "Careless Whisper", the final single from the album.

Producido por Howard Benson, los doce temas del disco tienen un sonido impecable, muy claro. Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces suena más compacto, más uniforme que sus anteriores trabajos. Aquí la dirección hacia un rock moderno de corte duro aleja a la banda de los caminos del post grunge que les caracterizaban. Las melodías son más directas y llegan antes al oyente. La voz de Shaun Morgan pierde ronquera para ganar en profundidad y asemejarse a la de artistas como Chris Daughtry o Chad Kroeger de Nickelback en algunos temas. Sus guitarras mantienen la distorsión seca de siempre pero los riffs y las figuras rítmicas han ganado en complejidad, a parte de mayores texturas, y sonidos acústicos. El bajo de Dale Stewart ha ganado en presencia, y la batería de John Humphrey cumple con firmeza. A nivel lírico, continúan con sus preguntas existenciales, angustiadas, para las que no hay respuesta fácil o única o convincente o simplemente, no hay respuesta en absoluto. El grupo se adentra en la fama, en el dinero, en el poder, en la religión, en la filosofía, en busca de un algo que les llene, que nos llene, pero no lo encuentran. Like Suicide y Fake It, los dos primeros cortes, son buena prueba de ello. La primera tiene un toque más lento, con un juego de guitarras muy bueno, mientras que la segunda tiene un ritmo muy pegadizo y ha sido lanzada como primer single. FMLYHM (Fuck Me Like You Hate Me) tiene el sabor más clásico del grupo, con un verso tranquilo que se rompe en un coro potente protagonizado por una voz ronca. Fallen, 6 Gun Quota, o Walk Away From The Sun ponen el punto del rock moderno más americano, con bases acústicas y rasgueos folk a lo Nickelback. Son las canciones más ligeras pero también las más directas. No Jesus Christ es la canción estrella del disco. Larga, intensa, con una línea melódica que se eleva y desciende como una montaña rusa a la orden de una letra seria sobre salvadores que se presentan a la puerta de uno sin haber sido invitados. A modo de síntesis, el nuevo disco de Seether es globalmente superior a los anteriores. La madurez que el grupo ha ido ganando se nota, y aunque el sonido es menos arriesgado que en los anteriores, lo directo de las canciones lo compensa.
