"Father Christmas" is a 1977 single by English group The Kinks. While it failed to make the charts, it is popular even today, especially around Christmas time. It ostensibly tells of a department store Santa Claus who is beaten up by a gang of poor kids who tell him to give them money instead of toys, as toys are impractical. At one point, a child asks the narrator to give his/her father a job for Christmas.
