Episcopi vagantes are persons who have been consecrated as Christian bishops outside the structures and canon law of the established churches and are in communion with no generally recognized diocese. Also included are those who have in communion with them a group so small that it appears to exist solely for the alleged bishop's sake. The term is Latin and means "wandering bishops" (or "stray bishops"). Those to whom it is applied see it as pejorative.

Vagantenbischöfe gehören weder der römisch-katholischen Kirche noch der Utrechter Union der Altkatholischen Kirchen an. Die heutigen alt-katholischen Kirchen der Utrecher Union erkennen die Weihe von so genannten episcopi vagantes nicht an.
