Epic Sony Record is a record label that also made Famicom video games during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Its founder was Shigeo Maruyama. This conglomerate was created by merger of the Epic and Sony companies. This merger did not apply to the European and North American markets because Columbia Pictures merged with Sony in the North American market instead of Epic Records. Notable music artists for this company have included Motoharu Sano, Tetsuya Komuro, and Kimiko Itoh.
