An Element Document Definition (EDD) is a set of rules used in structured FrameMaker, based on the context of each element in the document. Similar to a Document Type Definition, an EDD is used only in structured FrameMaker documents. It contains a description of the elements, their hierarchy and interaction as well as their style and formatting information to control the display and final output of contents.
