El Presidente (also written El Pres!dente) are a pop rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. Formed in 2002 by former and current Gun member Dante Gizzi, the band gained major exposure with slots at T in the Park 2005, V Festival 2005 and again at T in the Park in 2006. The band have also supported Oasis, Duran Duran and Kasabian on major tours of the UK.

  • El Presidente est un groupe de rock écossais, formé en 2004. Emmené par Dante Gizz, ce quintette à des influences Glam rock. Dante Gizz était l'ancien leader de GUN. Quelques années après la fin du groupe en 1997, il se lance dans un nouveau projet, jouant dans les alentours de Glasgow. Petit à petit se grefférent un ancien membre de GUN, Jools, et la batteuse Dawn Zhu. Ils signèrent chez One Records en 2004. Seul Dawn décida d'accompagner Dante sur la tournée qui suivit. Ils recrutèrent alors Laura Marks, Thomas McNeice et Johnny McGlynn pour former le line-up actuel. Le groupe a publié un premier album homonyme, sorti en France en janvier 2006 peu de temps après leur concert remarqué aux Transmusicales de Rennes. Le premier single était 100MPH suivie de Without You, Rocket et Turn This Thing Around . Cet album sera leur dernier. En effet, le groupe se sépare en 2007 pour des raisons encore inconnues.
