Ein deutscher Bildungskanal ist der BR-alpha, der vom Bayerischen Rundfunk seit dem 7. Januar 1998 betrieben wird und 24 Stunden am Tag, Sprachkurse, Weiterbildungssendungen des Telekollegs sowie Hochschul- und Wissenschaftssendungen sendet.
