Eddi Reader MBE (born Sadenia Reader, 29 August 1959, nicknamed Edna by her parents) is a Scottish singer, known both for her work with Fairground Attraction and for an enduring solo career. She is the recipient of three Brit Awards and has topped both the album and singles charts. In 2003 she showcased the works of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns.

Reader wurde in Glasgow geboren als Tochter eines Schweißers und die Älteste von sieben Kindern. Sie begann mit 10 Gitarre zu spielen. Zu Beginn ihrer Karriere sang sie im Background bei der Gang of Four. 1983 zog sie nach London und arbeitete für die Eurythmics, The Waterboys und Alison Moyet. 1984 traf sie Mark Nevin und kurz darauf wurde Fairground Attraction gegründet. Trotz beachtlicher Erfolge löste sich die Band 1989 wieder auf. Nach einer Babypause veröffentlichte Eddi Reader 1992 ihr erstes Soloalbum. Für ihr zweites Album, mit dem sie in den britischen Album-Charts bis auf Platz 4 kam, erhielt sie 1995 bei den Brit Awards die Ehrung als beste britische Sängerin. 2003 nahm sie ein Album mit Texten des schottischen Dichters Robert Burns auf. 2006 wurde Eddi Reader der Titel MBE verliehen.
