Miasto jest chętnie odwiedzane przez turystów z powodu ciepłego klimatu, interesujących zabytków (port rzeczny, statki parowe) oraz przyrody (np. położony w pobliżu park Barmah Wetlands). W lutym każdego roku rozgrywane są w Echuca jedne z najbardziej znanych zawodów narciarzy wodnych: Southern 80.
