Ecaterina Andronescu (born April 7, 1948) is a Romanian engineer, professor and politician. A member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), she sat in the Romanian Chamber of Deputies from 1996 to 2008, representing Bucharest, and has been a Senator since 2008, for the same city. In the Adrian Năstase cabinet, she was Education Minister from 2000 until June 2003, and currently holds the same position in the cabinet of Emil Boc since 2008. She is married and has one child.

- Ecaterina Andronescu este un politician român, membru al Partidul Social Democrat. În 2004 ea devine rectorul Universităţii Politehnica din Bucureşti. Tot în anul 2004 a fost aleasă preşedintele Consiliului Naţional al Rectorilor din România. În anul 2008 a fost reconfirmată pentru un nou mandat de patru ani în fruntea Consiliului Naţional al Rectorilor. Din 1996 este membră PSD, iar din 1997 este membră a Consiliului Naţional PSD, al Biroului Executiv Central şi Vicepreşedinte al Organizaţiei PSD a Municipiului Bucureşti. Din anul 2006 este vicepreşedinte al Partidului Social Democrat. A fost aleasă deputat în mandatele 1996-2000, 2000-2004, 2004-2008 pe listele PSD. În perioada 2000-2003 a fost ministru al educaţiei. Din 22 decembrie 2008 este Ministrul Educaţiei, Cercetării şi Inovării în Guvernul Boc.
