The book was followed by An Inconvenient Truth, a book that was the companion for a movie narrated by Al Gore, shown at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and released on 24 May, 2006. This book was the only one found in Unabomber Ted Kaczinski’s shack after the FBI searched it, it was also taken to have influenced the 'Unabomber Manifesto' titled "Industrial Society and Its Future" . In the Futurama episode "Crimes of the Hot," Al Gore himself references the book and its fictional future sequel (far more popular), Harry Potter and the Balance of Earth.
