He was pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds (1945), the Chicago White Sox (1947–1948 and 1953), the Washington Senators (1948), the St. Louis Browns (1952) and the Detroit Tigers (1953). He died in Simsboro, Louisiana on September 1, 1998 at the age of 79.
