Die Dungeon Family lässt sich in zwei Generationen gliedern. Die „Erste Generation“ besteht dabei seit 1993, während die „Zweite Generation“ erst Anfang des neuen Jahrtausends hinzugekommen und daher auf den meisten wichtigen Veröffentlichungen nicht zu hören ist. Bisher wurde erst ein Album der Dungeon Family veröffentlicht. Auf diesem ist bis auf den letzten Song nur die Erste Generation zu hören. 2004 gründete Big Boi die Supergroup „Purple Ribbon All-Stars“, die aus Mitgliedern der Dungeon Family besteht. Sie veröffentlichte auf seinem Label „Purple Ribbon Records“ zwei Mixtapes.
