  • Duncan Millar VC also known as Miller (19 June 1824 - 7 July 1881) was a Scottish recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was 34 years old and a private in the 42nd Regiment, (later The Black Watch, British Army during the Indian Mutiny when the following deed took place on 15 January 1859 at Maylah Ghat, India for which he and Private Walter Cook were awarded the VC: His Victoria Cross is displayed at the National War Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland.
