Douglas Michael Head is an American politician from the Republican Party and former Attorney General of Minnesota. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and an LL.B. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he graduated in 1956 along with fellow classmate and also future Attorney General Walter Mondale. Passing the bar in 1957, Head was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives and served from 1961–64.

Passing the bar in 1957, Head was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives and served from 1961–64. He was elected attorney general in 1966 and assumed office on January 2, 1967. He served as Attorney General of Minnesota from 1967–1971. Head ran for Governor of Minnesota in 1970, but was not elected, losing to Wendell Anderson of the DFL Party. After the election, Head formed the law firm of Head & Truhn (now Head, Seifert & Vander Weide) in 1971 with former Minnesota Solicitor General Jerome D. Truhn. He is now retired.
