Jerome Hanna "Dizzy" Dean was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball, elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was born in Lucas, Arkansas, and was a life-long resident of Bond, Mississippi. He was a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago Cubs, and briefly for the St. Louis Browns, and was the last National League pitcher to win 30 games in one season.
