Disney XD is a television channel which broadcasts to the Nordic countries and the Arab world and targeting boys between 6 and 14 years old. The channel launched on September 12, 2009 and replaced two previous channels operated by Disney; Jetix and Toon Disney. The new channel inherits several features from its two forerunners. The channel broadcasts between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. , just like Toon Disney, but unlike Jetix, which used to end its broadcast day at 6 p.m.

The launch follows similar moves all over the world. Disney XD replaced Toon Disney in the United States on February 13, 2009, and on April 1, 2009, Jetix France was replaced by Disney XD France. Most other Jetix channels are rebranded as either Disney XD or Disney Channel during the autumn of 2009. The Nordic version is unique in that it was created through the merger of two channels, instead of the rebranding of one.
