Dirkshorn is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia. It is a part of the municipality of Harenkarspel, and lies about 9 km north of Heerhugowaard. In 2001, the town of Dirkshorn had 1051 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.31 km², and contained 434 residences. The statistical area "Dirkshorn", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1610.

Het dorp is landelijk bekend van de commune Het Bedoeninkje, die er tussen oktober 1974 en juli 1976 gevestigd was. In 1325 komt de naam als eerst voor als Dirxhorn. Vernoemd naar Dirk I van Egmont (939-988) die hier veel land in bezit had. Horn is hoek, dus vernoemd naar de hoek van Dirk. De Schagerwaard is drooggelegd in 1621 en De Voorpolder in 1631. De eerste Gereformeerde kerk stond op het oosteinde van het dorp en is van 1659 met een klok uit 1608. Dit kerkje brandde af in 1905 en stond op de plaats waar nu het oude raadhuis staat. De tweede kerk, nu achter het raadhuis, is van 1868. Het orgel is van 1870 met een preekstoel uit 1660 van de eerste kerk. De predikant woonde eerst in Kerkebuurt maar later in Dirkshorn. De Nieuw Afgescheide Hervormde kerk op het westeinde van het dorp is uit 1920. De katholieken van Dirkshorn liepen via een voetpad (het Postepad) door de landerijen naar Kerkebuurt waar hun kerk stond. Het oude raadhuis is van 1731. Een watermolen stond op de grens Dirkshorn-Stroet. Ook zijn er een aantal oude boerderijen. Op het bedrijventerrein van Dirkshorn zijn een ambachtelijke koffiebranderij en een galerie gevestigd. Elk jaar in het tweede weekend van september wordt er een straatfestival gehouden in het dorp.
