In the UK Dino worked at Channel 4 as senior audio editor for 5 years, at Channel 5 and Ascent Media as a freelance audio mixer for a year, at Barcud Derwin as senior audio mixer (Picardy TV) and since 2008 at Soho based facility Concrete Post Production as senior audio designer/composer. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he started playing guitar and keyboards from the age of 10 and played in rock and electronic bands, later completing a degree in classical music specialzing in music/sound to picture. He started working in the post production industry and went on to work in South Africa’s premier post facility The Videolab (now Refinery) and the SABC working on commercials for Publicis, Ogilvy, JWT and Lascaris amongst others. In 2002 he moved to the UK and while freelancing, joined a band called Fetish who released 2 album’s on Virgin records in South Africa and supported the Smashing Pumpkins, Goo Goo Dolls,The Cult, Skunk Anansie and Lenny Kravitz on their SA tours. The band played live at venues such as Ocean and O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire but split in 2004. He also wrote and produced a song called Breathe Sunshine featuring the singer Delenta. It was co-produced by Sugababes and Amy Winehouse producer Craigie Dodds, and became a favourite on the chill-out music scene, voted 4th best single in 2005 by the The Big Chill music festival in the UK. In the same year it was remixed by the world’s number 1 DJ Paul van Dyk who remixes U2, Depeche Mode, Faithless and Underworld. The original song appeared on compilation albums in Australia and the US and reached no.2 on Apple’s iTunes electronic stores in 2006. It's been remixed by other DJ's including Drum & Bass outfit Black Sun Empire, DJ Irene (US) and G-Spott (Holland). In 2006 he wrote an album called Awakening which was released on iTunes and CD. The music is a mix of electronic down-tempo, breakbeat and ambient songs and featured vocals from Lucie Burns who sung with Asian Dub Foundation and Jose Padilla. Instrumental versions of the songs have been featured on trailers on UK Television.
