The example after which this was named is Megaceras briansaltini, a rhinoceros beetle which displays the same unique horn structure as the blue rhinoceros beetle Dim from A Bug's Life. The horn on Dim was rendered for a more child-friendly appearance, a shape that had never been seen before in nature or even in art. The first such horn structure in nature was seen in M. briansaltini eight years later in 2006.
