- Devil May Cry (デビル メイ クライ) is a series of hack and slash video games set in the modern day, developed by Capcom and created by Hideki Kamiya. Originally intended to be a sequel in Capcom's Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry has been cited as the beginning of a sub-genres of action games by the name of Extreme Action and Hack and Slash. The series centers on main character Dante's goal of avenging his mother's murder by exterminating demons. In the process, he encounters his long lost brother with whom he develops a dysfunctional relationship. As the series progresses it is revealed that the demon emperor Mundus is responsible for the loss of Dante's mother. The gameplay consists of heavy combat scenes in which the player must attempt to extend long chains of attacks while avoiding damage in order to exhibit stylized combat; this element along with time and amount of items collected and used are taken under consideration when grading the player's performance. The series has been a marketing success with the first three games selling multiple million copies and being awarded the "Platinum Title" award by Capcom. The success of the video game series has led to the creation of comic books, novelizations, an anime series, guides, collectibles, publications, and a variety of action figures. As of 2009 there are four games in the series.

- デビルメイクライシリーズ (Devil May Cry Series) は、カプコンがプレイステーション2で発売したアクションゲーム、またその作品から始まる一連のシリーズ。略称は「デビクラ」「デビル」「ＤＭＣ」。 「Devil May Cry」を日本語に意訳すると、「悪魔も泣きだす」となる。これは、第1作『デビルメイクライ』公式サイト上のコラムで、ディレクターの神谷英樹によって語られており、公式化している。 当初は「Devil May Care」というタイトルであったが、同名の映画があったため改題することとなった。この場合は「向こう見ずな」や「楽天家な」という意味になる。 この項目では、便宜上第1作『デビルメイクライ』を「1」、第2作『デビルメイクライ2』を「2」、第3作『デビルメイクライ3』を「3」、『デビルメイクライ3』に追加要素を加え、廉価版として発売された『デビルメイクライ3 スペシャルエディション』を「3SE」、第4作『デビルメイクライ4』を「4」と略称している。

Początkowo zamierzona jako sequel w serii Resident Evil Devil May Cry jest nazywane źródłem podgatunku gier akcji nazwanego Extreme Action. Fabuła serii toczy się wokół celu głównego bohatera, Dantego, którym jest pomszczenie morderstwa matki przez eksterminację demonów. W międzyczasie spotyka swojego dawno zaginionego brata, z którym tworzy niestabilną znajomość. W dalszej części fabuły okazuje się, że władca demonów Mundus jest odpowiedzialny za utratę matki i skorumpowanie brata Dantego. Rozgrywka składa się z ciężkich scen walki, w których gracz musi wykonywać długie ataki unikając odnoszenia obrażeń. Ten element, czas i ilość zdobytych przedmiotów jest używana do wyliczenia wyniku gracza. Seria osiągnęła sukces marketingowy, sprzedając pierwsze trzy części w wielu milionach sztuk i zostając odznaczonymi "Tytułami Platynowymi" przez Capcom. Sukces serii gier doprowadził do stworzenia komiksów, powieści, tworzonej serii anime, przedmiotów kolekcjonerskich i różnych lalek prezentujących postacie.
- 惡魔獵人系列（デビル メイ クライ，Devil May Cry），簡稱DMC，是日本卡普空公司在PlayStation 2上開創的動作遊戲系列。目前共有三款系列作推出，而第四款系列作目前已於2008年1月31號首賣. 對應PS3及XBOX360.
