Denise Idris Jones (born 1950) was a Labour member of the National Assembly for Wales for the Conwy Assembly constituency. She is a native of Rhosllanerchrugog, near Wrexham and speaks Welsh and conversational English. As a student in Liverpool, she worked for Harold Wilson’s campaign. She taught English and French at Grango Secondary Modern School, Rhos, for around 30 years. She was elected to the Assembly in May 2003 and defeated in 2007 by her 2003 Plaid Cymru opponent, Gareth Jones.
