Delta Chi Rho was established in 1968 at Howard Payne University as a Christian social service sorority open to women students who fulfill and maintain the highest spiritual ideals and evidences a desire to participate as an asset to the club. The motto of the sorority is Dedication, Character, and Responsibility. Its purpose is threefold: To be dedicated to stimulating friendships with members of the student body.

To accept responsibility as participants in clubs, activities, and projects, and to serve school and community willingly and faithfully. Its Verse is Romans 15:5-6 "May the God who gives you endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mind you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ. " Delta Chi Rho's officers for the 2008-2009 school year were: Cristal Moreno - President Lorin Lowrie - Vice President Meg Donnelly - Secretary Jenna Teltow - Treasurer Kristen Hoover - Chaplain Gailynn Drewery - Historian Molly Melton - Public Relations Lindsay Badgeley - Sgt. of Arms Honorary Members for the 2008-2009 school year were Hailey McClelland as Honorary and John Bailey who served flawlessly as Beau. Sponsors for the organization are Dr. Wendy McNeeley and Mrs. Shawn Matlock
