Deichkind is very well known for its crazy and wild live shows including rubbish bag-outfits, trampolines, vodka and pillow fights among other things. After the death of producer and friend Sebi Hackert on Feb 21, 2009, the official Deichkind website was taken down apart from a photo tribute and update about Sebi, and near the bottom this statement, roughly translated "We cannot say whether we would like to continue Deichkind in addition, at the moment. "

Sebastian Hackert, Produzent der Band und als musikalischer Kopf „maßgeblich an Sound und Konzept“ beteiligt, verstarb im Februar 2009 im Alter von 32 Jahren. Die Band hatte ihre größten Erfolge um die Jahrtausendwende und konnte durch ihre Vorreiterrolle im Bereich des Elektro-angelehnten Hip-Hop-Sounds ihrer letzten Alben 2008 mit Remmidemmi (Yippie Yippie Yeah) und Arbeit nervt weitere Charthits landen.
